In BedWars, you and up to three teammates spawn on an island. You must gather iron, gold, diamonds and emeralds in order to buy items and upgrades from the shopkeepers on your island.

Each island has a bed. If your bed is destroyed, you can no longer respawn. Place blocks around your bed to prevent it from being destroyed. Destroy other teams' beds; then, kill them to win!

</image> <label>Game Type</label> <label>Players</label> <label>Time</label> <label>Status</label> <label>Menu Icon</label> <label>Release Date</label> </infobox> BedWars (commonly shortened to BW) is a player-versus-player (PvP) game mode involving a network of islands in the sky with four, eight, or two teams facing each other. Although players die, as long as they still have a bed, they can respawn and come back into battle. The last standing team wins. This is currently the second most popular game on Hypixel, the first being Skyblock. There are plenty of cosmetics in BedWars, including projectile trails, victory dances, final kill effects and many more. Loot Chests, which are found in-game, and can be opened in the lobby, can help you earn more cosmetics in the game. These can be earned by leveling up and can be bought via The Hypixel Store. The main goal of this mode is to gather resources, defend your base, and buy items and upgrades to support your teammates and eliminate all enemy beds and players to win.

Info [edit]

  • Collect resources from generators (Iron, Gold, Diamonds, and Emeralds)
  • A large selection of maps (MVP+ rank or higher may choose maps)
  • Purchase weapons and supplies
  • Destroy your opponents' beds
  • Defeat your enemies after destroying their bed
  • Defend your bed from other teams

Warning: Cross-teaming (teaming with a player from another team) is punishable! Please report any cross-teamers you see on the Hypixel Forums.

BedWars has five core game modes: Solo (eight players), Doubles (eight teams of two), 3v3v3v3 ("Threes", four teams of three), 4v4v4v4 ("Fours", four teams of four), or 4v4 (two teams of four). In addition to these core game modes, there are "Dreams", which are special game modes that are replaced periodically.

Classic Modes[edit]

Players spawn in their bases equipped with leather armor and a Wooden Sword, where a generator ("forge"/"fountain") periodically drops the fundamental materials of the game, Iron and Gold. To the side are two shopkeepers that specialize in items and team upgrades separately. The "Item Shop" shopkeeper helps the player buy blocks, weaponry, armour, tools, etc.. The "Solo Upgrades"/"Team Upgrades" shopkeeper accepts payments of Diamonds only, which are used to improve armour protection, weapon strength, forge speed, base traps, and more.

  • Solo and Doubles - Red, blue, green, yellow, aqua, white, pink, and grey/silver
  • "Threes" and "Fours" - Red, blue, green, and yellow

In 3v3v3v3, 4v4v4v4, and 4v4, upgrades always cost more because they benefit more players.

World Layout[edit]

Each team is given their home island, commonly referred to as a "base", in which their generator, shopkeepers, chests (regular and ender) and bed are held on. The configuration of how these elements are placed differs on each game mode and map.

Every map has a centre island (or series of islands) on which Emerald generators are located. In Solo Mode, there are four of them, while in Threes and Fours, there are only two. Emeralds are used to buy the most powerful items in the Item Shop.

Diamond generators are often found on separate islands between bases. There are always four Diamond generators on each map, regardless of the game mode.

Generator Limits[edit]

  • In Solos or Doubles, Diamond generators hold a maximum of only four diamonds, and Emerald generators hold only two. A default forge can hold 48 Iron and 16 Gold without upgrades.
  • In Threes, Fours, and 4v4, Diamond generators hold up to eight Diamonds, and Emerald generators hold up to sixe.
  • In Castle Mode, the limit is unclear, however, Diamond generators are rumoured to hold about 40.

Chests are the same concept as in regular singleplayer survival Minecraft. Regular chests are available on every base, with their contents being shareable between teammates. Teams can access another team's chest after that team has been eliminated.

Ender chests can be accessed around the map with the same inventory no matter where you are. Their contents cannot be shared between teammates. If an enemy team's member permanently dies, their ender chest's contents are dropped in their island's forge.

In Castle Mode, there is only one ender chest and the bank replaces the normal Chest.
